Bana Tandizo - Honey That Makes a Difference
Bana Tandizo is a pure and natural honey, which comes from the source of the great Zambezi River. Rich in taste, it is collected by wild bees from plants that have been used as natural remedies for hundreds of years.
100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this honey go to the Bana Tandizo Foundation’s educational projects in Zambia, which are helping to build a better future for orphans and vulnerable children.
We had an idea: what if the honey on our tables could not only be a delicious, natural and exotic honey, but also support whole communities where it originates? And not just with a few pence here and there, but with transformational, life-changing charity programmes. Well it can, but only by being run by a charity with 100% of the sale net proceeds being spent on those children and communities. Welcome to Bana Tandizo Honey - Honey that makes a difference.
Each jar of honey is the prize product at the end of long journey. It starts with a honey farmer in Zambia making natural bark hives and placing them high up in trees of the Miombo forest. Wild bees collect pollen from the pure and natural surroundings, returning to the hives and starting the honey making process. At harvest time, the farmers return to the hives and delicately retrieve the honey with the traditional smoking technique. The honey is collected in tubs, where it is bought for a fair price and transported to Lusaka. In Lusaka the honey is gently centrifuged to filter out any residues, resulting in the pure, unpasturised honey that is shipped to the UK. On landing in the UK, the honey is poured into jars, labelled and delivered to your door.
How does it feel knowing that you have helped to make a difference, all by simply enjoying some honey?
